OUR ENERGY AUDIT OPTIONS

#1: Full Audit

Our full service home energy audit will give you the most comprehensive and in-depth look at your home. It starts with an exterior inspection of your property, including the roof, foundation, and grading, and then moves indoors for diagnostic testing, covering every inch of your house. After the full audit, your auditor will create a full report about your home. Then, they will meet with you to discuss their findings, recommended fixes, and a retrofit work proposal.

Best of all, if you have us complete any of the work outlined in your retrofit work proposal, the cost of the full audit will be deducted from the cost of the retrofit work. The full audit includes:

  • Exterior inspection

  • Interior inspection

  • Combustion safety testing

  • Furnace or boiler and water heater efficiency analysis

  • Blower door test

  • Infrared camera analysis

  • Duct leakage assessment

  • Audit report containing recommended fixes

  • Retrofit work proposal

  • AND MORE!

The full audit takes approximately 4 to 6 hours on-site and starts at $595.

#2: Estimate

For homeowners who are looking to target a specific issue or a particular area in the home, there is also our flat fee estimate. The estimate takes approximately 2 hours and includes testing of a specific room or area, plus a retrofit work proposal. It is a flat fee of $249.

*note - this is not suitable for temperature differences.  A full home assessment is always needed for this type of home resolution, even if in one room.

WHAT’S THE BEST ENERGY AUDIT OPTION FOR ME?

In almost all cases, we recommend the full energy audit—most homeowners in our area are dealing with problems that affect their entire house and need help finding the root cause of the issue. Our full audits are designed to be thorough and comprehensive, so that by the end you’ll have a better understanding of your home and the changes you can make to improve it.

But in some cases, you may be experiencing a singular problem in one particular room or area of your house and a full energy audit may not be necessary. When you talk to Home Energy Medics, we’ll ask you some questions about the problems you’re looking to solve and find an audit option best suited to meet your needs.

Looking for Duct Sealing? Did you know...

There is a substantial amount of energy loss when your HVAC system works overtime to make up for leaks and gaps in your ductwork. In addition to increased energy bills, the unnecessary strain on your system can significantly shorten its lifespan or lead to costly repairs. Air duct leaks can also create indoor air quality issues by allowing dust, allergens, and other pollutants easy access to the air circulating through your home. Having properly sealed ducts keeps these pollutants out of the air you breathe and balances temperatures, leaving your home feeling more comfortable.
